How long does it take to paint a mural?

Mostly work will be completed in 3 to 8 hours, in a single visit, depending on the size of the ceiling to be painted. Once the painting is complete, you can begin using the room immediately. The paint dries in an hour or so, and is completely odourless - there are no paint fumes and no smell.

What kind of room preparation is required?

Very little! As long as I have ample room to move a step ladder around, moving furniture is not required in most cases. I provide drop cloths to be used when necessary, to protect beds and other furniture.  Also, valuables, breakable items and anything you need that is in the room while I am in there must be removed.

Will I see the stars on my ceiling in daylight?

To the naked eye, the stars are virtually invisible in daylight. The paint I use dries to a translucent, milky off-white colour. On darker coloured ceilings, the stars will become more visible. Someone not knowing I'd painted a mural on the ceiling would never know it was there if they never saw the room in the dark.

What happens if I want to decorate? Will I lose my Stardust Ceiling?

No, Stardust Ceilings can be painted over once, sometimes twice without losing the effect. After a third coat of paint, your constellation will usually disappear. A fourth coat of paint will definitely ensure that your constellation is covered up.

Can I still have a Stardust Ceiling if my ceiling is artexed / wooden / tiled?

Yes, we are able to paint onto any common ceiling surface.

Do you have to paint the ceiling black first?

No, in fact the lighter your ceiling the better the effect, don’t forget at night your ceiling will look black. However if you are thinking of redecorating your ceiling soon obviously you’ll have to do it before, or I can do it for you.

Is the paint completely safe?

Yes! The paint is odourless and completely non toxic. It dries within about an hour, and the room is safe to use as soon as your STARDUST ceiling mural is completed

For how long will a Stardust Ceiling glow?

Approx 12-14 hours

When can I have a Stardust ceiling installed?

Almost right away! We will arrange a time that suits you weekday, weekends or evenings
